As vintage car and motorcycle fans and collectors we have always loved browsing the classifieds of our favorite magazines and newspapers looking for unexpected treasures and lost classics. But such pleasures are becoming harder to find.
So here you have it, the Octagon 'classifieds' section that hopefully will provide opportunities for sellers and buyers and, if we are lucky, even bring back some of the fun of browsing the 'old' classifieds.

About 4 years ago I stopped driving this MG: it was in very good physical and running condition. It has been sitting in my carport for a few years now and I finally realize that it belongs in a new home. The gas will need to be drained and probably a bit of a tune up and changing of various fluids are necessary. Currently, I don’t have the energy nor the time to do that. There are a few scratches on the paint job and on the windshield. I have a full set of photos showing the bodywork done on the car as well as several workshop manuals. Normally I would be asking $10,000 for this car but considering it is not now in running condition and we need the garage space, I would be happy with $4,500.

One owner since new. I bought it at Gordon Bros. Motors at 4th and Alma in Vancouver. Only 38,000 miles on this car and I’m the only one to drive it. Pretty well kept, but cetainly not perfect. Runs very well and no mechanical problems. Original BMC radio, Laycock deNormanville overdive on third and fourth, Rosstyle wheels, fiberglass Snugtop for winter use, and two new 6 volt batteries last fall. Totally original, but was stripped and repainted with rocker and quarter panels replaced 25 years ago. Moved to apartment so must go as I only have two parking spaces.
MGB GT in very good condition. Imported from California 7 years ago, appears to be rust free. The seats and dash are perfect and carpets are good. The car runs and drives as it should- no problems. I recently had Octagon Motors service the car (brakes, oil change,etc.). The speedo shows 97268 miles. The car has collector plates. Selling because of storage problem. New Westminster
Gearbox is from a 1975 with 119,000 miles, still nice and tight with smoothe operation.
Engine is from a 1967. Has approximately 110,000 miles on it. I bought the engine in 2001 and dropped it into my 75. Previous owner had it for 2 years, unknown history before that.
Engine and gearbox are currently together, I’d prefer to see them both go. Make me a reasonable offer, I’m making space, not trying to get rich. Or come by and see it. I’m happy to chat with other B owners.
This is my beautiful 1978 Triumph Spitfire 1500. I love everything about my convertible Spit (especially the color, the rare Pageant Blue). It’s really hard to sell but I have to make room for another car and unfortunately there is no other way (I live in downtown and I don’t have a double garage).
This has been my daily hobby for many months and has received an incredible amount of work. I spent a lot of money on it because of passion. When you add all the receipt (which I kept to show) the total cost is easily more than the selling price. As a perfectionist I always see something more that can be done, right now I would go for a fresh paint job or some body work in the usual spots but it’s time to let it go. The engine is excellent, runs and sounds great. Seriously, take it for a test drive and tell me after! I used this car daily an
