Sean Kostrzewski
shop manager
Sean has 25 years experience as an automotive technician, and has spent the past four years managing Octagon. For most of Sean’s career, he has specialized in Jaguars and other British cars, including Land Rover, Aston Martin, Bentley, and Rolls Royce. Prior to that, Sean owned his own shop in West Vancouver, and also has considerable experience on Mercedes, Porsche, and BMW cars. Sean has owned a number of Italian exotics over the years, and is equally comfortable under hood of a Ferrari or Maserati as he is servicing his own Lamborghini Urraco. In short, Sean can handle the most complex problems your car can throw at him. All done in a common sense, practical, and cost-conscious way.
Away from work, Sean is a passionate motorcyclist – and particularly enthusiastic about his Ducati 748S. When not riding, he will always be found in the company of his miniature Dachshund, Lucy, Octagon’s great-and-loyal “shop dog”.
Syd McNabb
senior technician
Syd has 38 years in the automotive trade, the past 16 of them at Octagon. Syd’s knowledge of English cars is extraordinary – from routine maintenance to the most precision engine rebuilds and tuning, old cars just run and drive better once Syd has been at them. That skill means an accurate diagnosis, and targeted fix, and the experience to know all the best tricks to keep your classic at the peak of its performance for a reasonable cost.
Away from the shop, Syd is a devoted dog lover, and volunteers at his local animal shelter. He is also an MG enthusiast, and the owner of a lovely MGB.
Devan is the newest member of the Octagon team, having joined us in 2013. With a broad general experience, Devan can tackle any job, on both old cars and new. If you come by Octagon needing a noise checked, a tire swapped, or an alternator swapped, chances are Devon will tackle the job.
Devan is an enthusiastic off-roader, skier, and (of course) dog lover.
